SCHOOL YEAR WEATHER POLICY
- If it is very light rain only, we will swim.
- If it is raining hard and we can't see the bottom of the pool, we will cancel practice
- If your school district (Little Rock Public Schools, NLR Public Schools or Cabot Public Schools) are closed due to inclement weather, practice is cancelled.
- If it is lightning or thundering outside 15 min prior to practice, practice is cancelled.
- If it is lightning or thundering 15 min prior to practice, practice will be canceled.
- If it begins lightning and thunder during practice, swimmers will be dismissed and parents should pick them up immediately in the main building.
- If weather moves in or is predicted after schools have been released for the day, watch for email notifications on cancellation. This will include tornado watches, flash flood watches, snow and ice predictions.
- Practice will be cancelled if a Tornado Warning or Flash Flood Warning for Pulaski County or Lonoke County is in place.
- If a tornado warning suddenly comes up, swimmers will be in the hall of the main building.
- If we are unable to practice due to weather, swimmers are encouraged to do a dryland practice at home.
- If the lifeguards close the pool do to the weather conditions we will not be able to practice until they reopen the pool.
Parent Tip: If it is thundering or lightning or you feel like the weather maybe turning for the worse. Then please do not attempt to attend swim team practice for that day or morning.
